Landry Singé: 3 Things to Watch for at the Russia-Africa Summit That Starts Today

The inaugural Russia-Africa Summit that starts today in the Black Sea city of Sochi will focus on three specific areas, according to Professor Landry Signé from the Africa Growth Initiative at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C.

“Pragmatic economic cooperation, military-technical partnerships, and Russia’s quiet soft-power push,” said Professor Signé in a column published in Quartz. “These are all set out in the competitive context with the United States, the European Union, and China, among others, as the backdrop.”
