Jodi-Ann Wang is an MPhil candidate in Development Studies at the University of Cambridge '21 and a recent graduate from Kenyon College '20, where she received her BA in International Studies focusing on sub-Saharan Africa and East Asia development. After spending her junior year researching in Accra, Ghana (University of Ghana) and Beijing, China (Peking University School of International Studies), Jodi-Ann's undergraduate honors thesis focused on exploring the disparity between official promulgation and on-the-ground perceptions of China-Africa relations. Her scholarly focus is motivated by her aspirations to participate in effective development policymaking that strengthens global marginalized communities' resilience against deepening power asymmetries, particularly in social development, education policy, and climate justice. Born in China, raised in Vancouver, Canada, schooled in the US and the UK, Jodi-Ann is passionate about facilitating diverse and inclusive dialogues in development policymaking that center underrepresented voices and build cross-regional communication and rapport (twitter - @ jodiannwang).
