India Ramps Up Language on Taiwan as Tensions with China Rise

This tweet from the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka that kicked off the current dispute around India's escalation of language around Taiwan.

India has accused China of the ‘militarization of Taiwan Straits.’ The tweet, issued by the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka, is a marked escalation of the combative language between the two and from India’s relatively muted response when U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan in early August.

The comment follows tensions relating to the docking of a Chinese army research vessel Yuan Wang 5, at the Sri Lankan port of Hambantota. Because of Indian concerns, Sri Lanka initially reversed its decision to let the ship dock and then allowed the ship entry after a delay of several days.
