At CGSP, we are committed to producing accurate, fair, and trustworthy journalism and analysis. Our credibility depends on our willingness to correct errors transparently and promptly. This policy outlines our approach to handling factual mistakes, clarifications, and editorial updates.
1. Our Commitment to Accuracy
We aim to ensure that every piece of content we publish—whether reporting, analysis, commentary, or multimedia—is accurate, evidence-based, and clearly sourced. However, when errors occur, we take full responsibility for correcting them.
2. When We Correct
A correction is warranted when:
- We publish incorrect or misleading factual information.
- We misidentify individuals, organizations, countries, or dates.
- We misstate a quote, statistic, or attribution.
- We omit critical context that alters the meaning of the content.
We do not correct based on disagreements with our editorial perspective or analytical conclusions, but we will consider updates if new, verifiable evidence becomes available.
3. Types of Editorial Action
- Correction: A factual error is fixed and noted clearly at the top or bottom of the article. The correction will specify what was incorrect and what has been changed.
- Clarification: When a statement was factually accurate but may have been ambiguous or confusing, we will revise the text for clarity and note the update.
- Retraction: In rare cases, if an article contains multiple serious errors that cannot be corrected without undermining the integrity of the piece, we may retract the content. A notice explaining the reason will replace the original article.
4. How Corrections Are Made
- Corrections are timestamped and labeled clearly (e.g., Updated on April 16, 2025: A previous version misstated…).
- The original language may be preserved with strikethroughs for transparency, or replaced and explained in a footnote, depending on the nature of the change.
- For audio, video, or social media content, corrections may be posted in accompanying text, captions, or pinned comments.
5. How to Request a Correction
If you believe we have made a factual error, please contact Editor-in-Chief Eric Olander at:
📧 eric@chinaglobalsouth.com
Include:
- A link to the article or content
- A description of the issue
- Supporting evidence, if applicable
All requests will be reviewed by the editorial team. We aim to respond within 72 hours.
6. Accountability and Continuous Improvement
Corrections are not just technical fixes—they’re part of our editorial integrity. We regularly review correction trends to identify opportunities for internal training, stronger sourcing, and improved editorial processes.
Thank you for holding us accountable.
Your trust in our work is what allows us to continue reporting with independence, clarity, and depth
