Ghana is the newest member of the Chinese-initiated International Organization for Mediation (IOMed). Ambassador Kojo Bonsu on Tuesday signed on as a founding member of the Hong Kong-based international mediation body that now includes 38 other countries.

The IOMed launched last year as a new intergovernmental organization that aims to resolve disputes through negotiated settlements, rather than the kind of adversarial litigation that occurs at the International Court of Arbitration.
