China’s CATL and BYD Control 55% of Global EV Battery Market

Two Chinese EV battery companies, CATL and BYD, accounted for more than half of global electric-vehicle battery usage from January through November 2025, according to data released by South Korean market research firm SNE Research.

Global EV battery usage totaled 1,046 gigawatt-hours over the 11-month period, up 32.6% from 788.9 GWh during the same period last year.
