US, China Outline Trade Truce Plan Ahead of Trump–Xi Talks

U.S. and China say they’ve agreed on a trade truce outline to delay 100% tariffs and pause rare earth curbs. Trump and Xi meet Oct. 30 in South Korea.

The United States and China said they have agreed on a basic outline to limit their trade fight, and U.S. President Donald Trump said he expects to “have a deal with China” when he meets Chinese leader Xi Jinping this week.

The outline is meant to head off new 100% U.S. tariffs Trump has threatened for next month and to extend a tariff truce that is set to expire on November 10.
