Indonesia Avoids U.S. Tariffs Deadline Pending Deal: Minister

Indonesia resumes U.S. tariff talks after reports the July trade deal risked collapse, with China emerging as a key point of dispute.

Indonesia will avoid the incoming 19 percent U.S. tariff hike on exports scheduled for August 1, as negotiations over the underlying bilateral trade agreement remain ongoing, said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto on Monday.

Speaking on Monday, Airlangga confirmed, citing the absence of a finalized agreement with Washington.
