Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva signed a raft of bilateral cooperation agreements on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro. They include a letter of intent between Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy and China General Nuclear Power Group for cooperation on civilian uses of nuclear energy.

The two countries also agreed to set up a joint center to integrate artificial intelligence into agriculture. The center’s initial focus will be fostering AI-supported small-scale farming in semi-arid regions. The two sides also agreed on pharmaceutical, aerospace, and fiscal cooperation.
