China Brokers Diplomatic Upgrade Between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Extends CPEC

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced that Pakistan and Afghanistan would elevate their ties, following an informal meeting between Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Afghan counterpart Amir Khan Muttaqi in Beijing.

The two countries agreed to deploy ambassadors and “clearly expressed” their willingness to upgrade relations, Wang said, and said the three countries will work together for peace in the region.
