Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL), the world’s largest EV battery manufacturer, saw its shares surge more than 16% during its debut on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Tuesday, following a $4.6 billion initial public offering (IPO).

The listing comes amid rising geopolitical scrutiny and strong investor demand, highlighting CATL’s strategic effort to raise capital for its global electric vehicle expansion.
