Manila and Beijing are trading blame following the second incident between ships from the two countries at the disputed Sabina Shoal in a week.

According to the Chinese Coast Guard, a Philippine vessel “refused to accept [its] control” and “deliberately collided” with a CCG vessel on Sunday. Gan Yu, a spokesperson for China’s Coast Guard, said the collision knocked Philippine crew members overboard, and they were “immediately rescued on humanitarian grounds.”
