In an unusual move, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided new details about the upcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit that will take place during the first week of September.

Spokesperson Lin Jian on Tuesday said a gathering of “senior officials” (likely at the ministerial level) will take place on September 2nd and 3rd in Beijing, followed by the leaders summit that will convene the rest of the week through September 6th.
