Matt Pottinger, one of conservative Washington’s most outspoken China hawks, called for a much more forceful U.S. response to the ongoing territorial disputes between Beijing and Manila in the South China Sea.

In a speech on Tuesday at the Heritage Foundation, the former Deputy National Security Advisor in the Trump administration accused the White House of failing to respond adequately to the challenge posed by China in the South China Sea.
