Ethiopia, Djibouti Take Over Management of Ethio-Djibouti Railway From Chinese Company

The Chinese state-owned construction company that built the 752km Ethiopia-Djibouti railway formally turned over control of the railway to the two host governments.

The handover took place on Friday at a ceremony in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, where officials from the China Railway Construction Company turned over full operation of the railway to local operators. The handover was part of a planned transfer that took place six years after the rail line launched.
