WEEK IN REVIEW: Iran, Russia and China Will Conduct Joint Naval Exercises in March

Iran, Russia and China will conduct joint naval exercises in March, according to Iran’s Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani. Details on the specific location of the war games and what other countries have been invited were not announced. The three countries conducted similar drills last year at the same time. (TASNIM NEWS AGENCY)

The China Coast Guard (CCG) claimed credit for expelling a Philippine Coast Guard vessel near the disputed Scarborough Shoal on Monday. But it’s not clear if the Filipino vessel was escorted from the region by the CCG or if it had merely completed a three-day “presence patrol” in the area as some experts believe. (CHINA DAILY)
