The European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will hold a national leaders summit in December for the first time to discuss expanding trade and infrastructure assistance.  Relocating some of Europe’s supply chains from China to Southeast Asia is widely expected to be a theme of the talks.  (NIKKEI ASIA)

Russia remained China’s largest oil supplier in July – the third consecutive month. Chinese independent refiners stepped up their buying of heavily discounted Russian crude last month and cut back on shipments from both Angola and Brazil. Saudi Arabia was second, while deliveries from the United States fell 84% compared to the same time last year.(REUTERS)
