Not surprisingly, China isn’t mentioned once in the program of official events for the ongoing “Africa-Europe Week” that kicked off on Monday and will culminate in the two-day leaders’ summit in Brussels. 

But just because China isn’t on the agenda doesn’t mean it isn’t on peoples’ minds as was evident today in a new column published by the EU’s top diplomat (and outspoken China critic) Josep Borrell who vaguely warned of “other global actors” in Africa striving to “undercut European influence.”
