The owners of the West Hills shopping mall in southern Ghana who dumped huge boulders in front of the China Mall next door explained that they did so to stop the neighboring shopping center from expanding onto their land — and not because they objected to the China Mall’s lower prices.

The boulders were an “attempt by West Hills Mall’s Management to secure and protect its land that has been intruded by China Mall during the past couple of months,” said a press release from West Hills published on Wednesday.
