It’s Back to Business For Chinese Contractors in the DR Congo

Governor Gentiny Ngobila hosted a ceremony in City Hall to mark the completion of the feasibility studies to refurbish a railway line through the capital.

Municipal authorities in the Congolese capital Kinshasa announced that Chinese construction major Sinohydro will be among the lead contractors to refurbish a 75-kilometer section of the city’s decrepit rail line.

Governor Gentiny Ngobila hosted a ceremony in City Hall (photo) on Tuesday to mark the completion of the feasibility studies that will allow construction to begin soon. The project will be financed with loans from China, France, and Italy among other sources.
