Hydrocarbon Pressure Builds as China Faces Energy Disruption

China is putting pressure on Iranian officials to ensure that oil and gas shipments keep moving through the Strait of Hormuz, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The narrow waterway transports the vast bulk of Middle Eastern fossil fuels to East Asia and represents a crucial chokepoint. A key issue for Beijing is to keep the shipments already at sea moving to make up for the disruption of production across the Middle East.
