New Polling Shows Shifting World Ahead of Trump Inauguration

Interesting North/South splits are emerging ahead of Donald Trump’s inauguration as U.S. President on Monday. New polling data from the European Council on Foreign Relations shows that while key Global South publics like Saudi Arabia and India think Trump’s return will benefit both their own countries and the world, traditional allies like Europe and South Korea are gloomier.

While the majority thought that the U.S. will likely gain influence over the next decade, respondents in most of the twelve polled countries also expect China to become the stronger power over the next twenty years.
