Chinese EV Exports to Brazil Surge to Avoid New Tariffs

Brazilian imports of Chinese-made electric vehicles surged by almost 50% in the first quarter of 2024 compared to last year.

BYD and other Chinese automakers are rushing to get their vehicles into the market ahead of new import duties that will increase to 18% in July and reach 35% in 2026.
