Egypt is Now the Main Hub for Chinese Vaccine Diplomacy in Africa and the Middle East

TWEET TRANSLATION: I am pleased to attend today the ceremony of handing over the Chinese/Egyptian joint donation to the Gaza Strip by the Palestinian National Authority, in the form of 500,000 doses of the Vaccera-Sinovac vaccine. China is ready to continue making contributions to bring about a solution to the Palestinian issue and to achieving lasting peace and stability in the Middle East!

While Europeans and Americans are now ramping up their efforts to develop COVID-19 manufacturing facilities in Africa, a Chinese joint venture in Egypt is already well underway where it’s becoming a vital hub in Beijing’s vaccine diplomacy in both Africa and the Middle East.

China’s ambassador to Cairo, Liao Liqiang, was at the headquarters of the Egyptian state-run pharmaceutical company VASCERA that produces Sinovac vaccines on Sunday to make a donation of 500,000 doses to the Palestinian Authority that will be distributed in the Gaza Strip.
