Like a high-stakes version of speed dating, Persian Gulf foreign ministers and the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) met one after the other with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in the eastern city of Wuxi outside of Shanghai.

The day’s most important session took place on Monday between Wang and Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. Later, Wang also met with his Bahraini counterpart Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani followed by talks with GCC head Nayef bin Falah Al-Hajraf.
