China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin parried any critique of Beijing’s vaccine distribution drive around the world, especially in developing countries, with an indirect diss against rivals in the United States and Europe. “We act on our words,” he said at yesterday’s regular press briefing in Beijing, with the not-so-subtle implication that China is doing more than others to supply vaccines to the world’s poorest countries.

Wang said China has already provided vaccines to the following countries: Pakistan, Brunei, Nepal, the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, Palestine, Belarus, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe, and Equatorial Guinea.
